Mental harrassment and shaming from neighbor

A middle aged couple have been harassing and shaming us on society watsapp group from past 5 years. The allegation is of constant noises heard from our flat which infact comes from some other flats. Once he came on our door & started screaming, shaming us & banging our door. I filed complaint to NWC as several complaints to police didn't help. As result of NWC complaint police issued CrPC149 . For few days the harassment stopped but it again started. What legal step can be taken against them?

if they are defending you on WhatsApp group you can save the chats and file an FR based on that complaint you can file proceeding for the defamation against them as well as you can initiate criminal proceedings

You may file a private case before the nearest magistrate if police is not taking any action. If you are defamed then you may also file a case of defamation against them before the nearest magistrate.

according to your say your neighborhood problem has been persistent for past 5years. Check if any other members have the same complaint against you. Because any step you intend to take in future must not back fireAs already a notice of 149 has been issued by police now Give a drafted complaint to police and Issue a legal notice for their past and present actions demanding an unconditional apology. Thereafter you may file a complaint against your neighbors before magistrate.

Well, you can file Civil and Criminal Cases against that Neighbour who is harassing you constantly with his wife. You can file a case of Mental Harrasment against them and Private Nuisance to seek monetary compensation.
