Help please, we are students, we did a terrible mistake

12-Jun-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi everyone, some of us students got caught cheating in the university exam by impersonation. We paid someone to take exam on our behalf, we wanted good score but now we have a criminal case against us. We wanted to improve our future but now our entire entire future is going to ruin. Can anybody help us compound the case? Section 419, 420, 120B, 66D of IT act are against us, it was an online exam. Case is registered by police in south Delhi. We are really sorry for what we did, our families are already punishing us more than we ever imagined, we don't want our entire future and career ruined, is there any way out? Compounding is our only chance, is compounding possible in this case? University is NOT co-operating, they want to teach us a lesson we never forget. We have already learned the lesson sir. Please help Sir/Maam. Can we compound this case with the permission of court without the university co-operating? Please save our lives.

The offences that are levied on you are compoundable by the person cheated with the permission of the court. Do share the FIR and also whether the chargesheet filed in the court or not. And have you applied for your bail or not. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Details are required to be examined to check the facts in detail and also to suggest remedies. Allegations and sections are serious in nature. asking for compounding is not a matter of right. case is required to be handled strategically. if required consult with detail.

Hello all !
It’s very sad to hear this. The case that has been Registered against you has the potential to destroy your entire career. You need to provide the details of the case like FIR number , Police station. Out of all the sections that have been mentioned in the FIR, section 67 of the IT act is the most problematic one. However, if we are able to put forward an effective defence then we might be able to convince the court about her innocence. We can say that we did not have any criminal intention behind doing this act and therefore we may be forgiven. I'm I'm sending you a text message on WhatsApp from my number. Kindly reach out so that appropriate help can be rendered.

Compounding is not an option as the University is not ready to cooperate.

Present to the court an anticipatory bail. Not all offences are compoundable offences.

Compunding may occur if the victim/university supports you.

Anticipatory bail and then present your case at trial. Hopefully, a penalty is levied and then the case is disposed.

You may go for quashing/ or Criminal Writ but that won't be fruitful in my opinion. Very strong reasons are needed to explain that the sections put forth are harsh and the students deserve a chance to redeem their career. There is a slim chance.
