Everyone is equal in the eyes of law this proverbs sometimes becomes the mere proverb when the accused belongs to a high class society or when he is in authority but this entire thing is not right always as the law creates right and remedy for each and every grievances. You can seek the help of the court and can file a complaint case U/S 156 {3} of the crpc and ask for the direction from the court for the registration of the Fir and the investigation of the matter .. you will get the remedy and that's the best way to avoid the policeman's free and fake advice .

File a Pvt criminal complaint against him before the concerned Magistrate.

Or before going to court, you may file a complaint against him with concerned ACP office.

These are two options either of which may be opted by you.

In your case you need to move with a complaint before the magistrate. For that you need to consult as you should have a reasonable preliminary grounds of a cognizable offence. You need to get something on audio/video as well with some witnesses to stand for you. So, consult and go with a plan to execute.
