Legal remedy to claim compensation in online shopping fraud

03-Feb-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I made an offer to buy an electronic item from Quikr. The seller accepted it, contacted me on whatsapp and he asked for the payment in his account which I deposited. After the payment he blocked me. I raised the matter with the Quikr team, they banned him but when I asked for compensation they simply said that it is merely a platform to sell and they will not compensate. It is not like they never compensate as there have been examples in the past.

First you lodge a FIR against the seller and Quikr after that to claim your money and compensation you may go into the shelter of consumer court for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice against the responsible person.

there is maxim BUYERS BEWARE. but you failed to act upon the same.
its your own fault.
quiker said right.
however, you can claim from the seller by filing consumer case in the District Forum of your area but for that you will have to confirm about actual physical address of the seller.
you can get the same from quiker

it is true that the websites like quikr are mere platforms for prospective buyers and sellers to interact. however, as per the new features, the quikr is offering transaction options as well and delivery and cashback options also. the terms and conditions of the website would play a crucial role in afixing their liability.
the best option would be to lodge a fir against that person. if you have made payment through online/cheque you may alternatively file a suit for recovery as well.
