electric pole issue to our residence
10-Mar-2025 (In Consumer Court Law)
We have one old electric pole fixed to our residence wall causing lot of issues for us due to electric shocks passing into our walls and power tapping happening by outsiders trespassing by our walls as it is low lying, for this we raised many complaints and emails about issue to all higher officials, but all in vain. we also reported TGSPDCL CGRF consumer court for action redressal but the orders were given in their own department favor, need reply to this case for further step . Thanks
Since TGSPDCL CGRF (Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum) ruled in favor of the department despite your genuine concerns, you can escalate the issue further. Here’s how you can proceed:
1. File an Appeal with the Electricity Ombudsman
Since CGRF has ruled against you, you have the right to appeal before the Electricity Ombudsman within 30 days of the CGRF order.
The Electricity Ombudsman for Telangana handles disputes between consumers and electricity providers.
Attach evidence (photos, previous complaints, correspondence, and CGRF order) to strengthen your appeal.
Mention the risk of electric shock, safety hazards, and unauthorized power tapping to highlight the urgency.
2. File a Complaint with the District Consumer Forum
If the Ombudsman does not provide relief, approach the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for deficiency in service.
You can seek compensation for negligence, safety hazards, and mental distress.
3. Legal Notice & High Court Writ Petition
If authorities fail to act, send a legal notice to TGSPDCL demanding immediate removal of the pole.
If they still do not act, file a Writ Petition (Mandamus) in the Telangana High Court to compel action.
4. Approach Local Municipality or Electricity Inspector
The Municipal Corporation or Electrical Inspectorate (CEIG - Chief Electrical Inspector to Government) can intervene if public safety is at risk.
Would you like a draft for an appeal to the Electricity Ombudsman or a legal notice to TGSPDCL?
You should file an appeal before the Electricity Ombudsman of Telangana under the Electricity Act, 2003, challenging the CGRF order, preferably within 30 to 60 days from the date of the order. If the Ombudsman also fails to provide proper relief, the next legal remedy is to file a Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution before the Telangana High Court, seeking directions for the removal or relocation of the electric pole to ensure your right to safety and peaceful enjoyment of property. Ensure you preserve all complaint records, CGRF orders, and photographic evidence as supporting documents.
