Defective laptop no resolution by company how can I claim refund

16-May-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I purchased one laptop from HP for 60000 rupees in July 2015. The unit is not functional since starting and HP has failed to provide a resolution even after 6-7 months of troubleshooting. I asked them to replace the machine which they denied and now i am looking for a full refund since my case has been open since beginning. Please advice.

If the product is within warranty period you have full right to claim replacement of the machine. You should immediately move a complaint before the consumer forum of your district. You can in the alternative also claim full refund of your money and seek additional compensation

In case you have invoice and the laptop was covered under warranty period you have a claim subject to the non functioning being totally attributable to HP and not due to any kind of physical damage. If all these conditions are met you have a rightful claim. Additionally any correspondence between you and HP regarding complaints for non functioning of the laptop shall also be helpful.

YOU SHOULD FIRST SEND A LEGAL NOTICE TO HP, AND ASK FOR REPLACEMENT WITHIN A TIME FRAME, FAILING WHICH YOU HAVE OPTION TO FILE A COMPLAINT BEFORE CONSUMER COURT OF YOUR AREA. YOU SHOULD ALSO ANNEX REPORT/OPINION OF SOME EXPERT/TECHNICIAN SO AS TO SHOW THE DEFECT IN YOUR LAPTOP. ALSO ANNEX VARIOUS SLIPS AND EMAILS YOU MUST HAVE RECEIVED FROM HP TOWARDS REPAIR OF FAULTY LAPTOP. YOU WOULD NEED SERVICES OF A LAWYER TO FILE THE CONSUMER CASE
