Advice Needed: Settlement Deed for Partial Refund from Shine.com
03-Jun-2025 (In Consumer Court Law)
I paid Shine.com ₹18,040 in total — an initial ₹3,200 for a premium account, then two additional payments after calls from a relationship manager. Though they informed me before each payment, the practice was misleading, pushing multiple payments despite my refusal of the third. Now they offer a partial refund of ₹9,556 but want me to sign a settlement deed first. Is this deed necessary? How should I respond? What are my rights?
Sir the act of the opposite party clearly amounts to deficiency in service you being a consumer has legal remedy to sue them before a consumer court of competent jurisdiction. You need not to settle for partial refund, they have to pay you the same amount plus interest on the amount, mental harassment charges and also litigation expenses. So it would be better for you to proceed before consumer court rather than settle for lesser. If you need any further assistance/guidance on this issue or any other legal issue feel free to contact.
