No, You cannot file suit for defamation. Filing of suit for partition and for setting aside the sale deed will not amount to defaming any one. It is open for you to contest the suit and put forth your defense like, property not being joint family property, earlier partition, denial of right of the parties to seek partition etc as per the advise of your counsel, if choose to appoint one.

Sir, sorry for delay reply , as you stated regarding the allegations and wrong, defamation case can't be filled has they is no open Mafia statement or any type of press release, if you file also it won't stand in the court of law, has there is no financial loss or damages due to this, before going further please contact a legal profession and act according. Grand-children have no right in grandfathers self acquired property, on demise of grandfather the property would be transferred to the grandmother and their children. You can file defamation case against tgsm but you need to prove it in the court.
