Signed cheque deposited in Bank by amount written by someone else

Sir, A person was having a blank cheque signed by me ten years ago. He filed an amount of 2lakh on it and processed it in bank. Due to insufficient balance the cheque got bounced. Today he sent me a legal notice, stating that i had lend 2lakh from him, and i have 15 days to return it. Please suggest what can i do

Dear queriest,
1) As u have recieved a legal notice and u have to send reply denying the facts stated so.
2) you have to mention every facts y u have given blank signed check to that person thereby asking him to withdrew his notice.
3) what are the chances if he doesnot withdrew his notice:
A) he can file 138 NIACT conplaint case against u. And u will recieve bailable warrants by the concerned court.
B) you have to file bail application in court.
And lastly you have to defend ur case.

You should reply to notice through advocate for proper guidance and you can also file a civil regarding the cheque in question for the time this is the only remedy there are chances of acquittal but depend on evidence you have
