The Banks/ NBFCs will first start calling you and then you will receive Legal Notices from Lawyers. If you still fail, they will file Cheque Bounce cases before the Courts and subsequently you will receive Summons from the Courts. This is the process.

Bank/NBFC can take several legal actions against you. Legal steps depend on the kind of your loan. If the bank/nbfc takes the matter to Court, you will need to surrender before the court and take bail and face the trial. if it's a home loan, the bank/nbfc takes orders from the DM, and to prevent that you will need to move the DRT to take stay orders. You will have to settle the Loan, court/DRT can grant you an additional time of a few years, but eventually you have to settle the file to get NOC, or else your CIBIL will get destroyed.
