Not paying back money and threatening to dishonour surety cheque

I issued my cheque as surety to the party without date for 10lakh for my friend who promised for a property but failed and not paying back party is harrasing me for payment and threatening to initiate legal action by dishonourinf cheque

First you should file criminal complaint against the person who is threaten you and also file civil suit for dishonour of cheque according to sec138 negotiable instrument act and he was cheated you so file one more criminal case for cheating you.
TAKE action immediately.

You can file a complaint against both your friend and other party for cheating because your friend gave you assurance and after that you issued a cheque in the name of other party. And
you can also file a complaint against other party for threats as you mentioned.
