Loan repayment how to get money back

I had lent a sum of 12.5 lakh rupees to a person on goodwill against cheque without supporting agreement. The person had passed time till the cheque got lapsed. Now he is asking me to do whatever I want to reclaim the money. I want to take my money back. How can I get the money back legally.
Yes of course u can recover the same but you have to proceed u have consulted a lawyer and collect emple evidence to support your claim. Otherwise​ it will become he'll and you can't recover any penny

You should file a suit for recovery of Rupees 12 lakhs against the person before the appropriate court of law. That is the best possible remedy in such cases. You may file allied criminal cases against him as well.

In such a case, you have a remedy under civil law. You can file a civil suit for recovery of money against the person claiming the whole amount along with an interest on it, provided you can prove your solvency to give this amount of loan.

you produce the cheque to the bank for payment twice in a row if unpaid for the first time then you may send a legal notice to the opposite party stating the reason for non payment of cheque by the bank, after which you are eligible to file a case in the court of law
