If a cheque issued by you has bounced due to insufficient funds and court has issued summons under section 138 of the N.i act then it is important that you appear in the court on the date mention in the summons. Since this is bailable offence you can apply for the bail on the first date through a local advocate. After that seek time for filing your defense If you have bonafide reasons for your defense then provide the evidence regarding your defense to court after appearance

u should definitely appear in court as asked and called by summon. u r not required to bail at first instance, firstly ur declaration will be recorded then only u will be asked to surrender and procure bail , u have 02-03 hearings for this process , don't try to skip court
