I have issued cheques but due to insufficient funds they were bounced
21-May-2025 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
Court has issued me summons to appear before court for first hearing.I don't have arrangements for surety. Should I appear or not.Pls advice
If a cheque issued by you has bounced due to insufficient funds and court has issued summons under section 138 of the N.i act then it is important that you appear in the court on the date mention in the summons.
Since this is bailable offence you can apply for the bail on the first date through a local advocate. After that seek time for filing your defense
If you have bonafide reasons for your defense then provide the evidence regarding your defense to court after appearance
