I am having a security cheque of a person..He is not paying my money back..what should i do?
Sir, you will have to present the cheque before the bank and thereafter, send a notice to the defaulter in case he still does not pay we will have to initiate proceedings against him. In case he does not settle the dispute in time, then the court may also order fair amount of compensation along with payment of money.

Hello sir. I have perused your legal query. You can at first send a legal notice to the concerned party seeking the amount due in addition to interest apart from the cost of notice. In case the person fails to respond within the stipulated time you can initiate civil proceedings for recovery. Please feel free to reach out to me in case you wish to discuss the matter in more detail.

I have perused the contents of your query and would advise you to seek a detailed consultancy from a lawyer having expertise. A statutory legal notice followed by complaint under section 138 if the Negotiable Instruments Act, has to be filed. There is a limitation period involved so please adhere to that.
