Guidance on further proceedings

23-Nov-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
I was running a franchisee of a company to do training programs. The programs did not go well and there was a loss generated. I was not able to pay the rent amount and thus I was forced to submit a personal cheque for the amount to be paid(Rs. 1,00,000). They submitted the cheque on the date and it bounced due to lack of cash. Now there are chances that they can proceed legally. Please guide on what can be done.

yes they will proceed you as per the negotiable instruments act and send the notice to you as soon and it is nature of quasi criminal case , you have to reply for the notice and contest the case with necessary evidence otherwise the summons and warrant will be issues against you and there is a time limitation you have to proceed in time.

You are in danger situation. You will receive legal notice then after 45 to 90 days you receive court summons. You have to deposit 20 percent of cheque within 90 days. You will get ample to but you have to face all these stuations. Nothing to bother.

Sir, after bouncing check, they will issue notice to you, after receipt of said notice, you are required to give reply notice. if they initiate proceedings against you, then you have to take bail and contest the matter with deny the transactions.
