cheque got bounced and I want to escape without paying compensation

I got amount 12Lakhs as investment from an individual promising giving him 10% of profits each month till I return the investment amount. I gave 120000 each month continuously for 14 months. So I shared profits beyond the investment amount. Now I suffered a loss and can't share profits or the investment amount anymore. I gave my cheque as proof to him. Now he got my cheque bounced and sent an legal notice. How can I escape from this ? Can I escape showing the statement of profits sharing 14,40,000 saying I returned his investment amount already.
Yes, in that case you have to approach High Court for quashing. You gsve given the cheque as securety but not received any consideration under it. Get issue reply legal notice. Well foundation to be laid. otherwise you cannot similar defense in future.
