CHEQUE BOUNCE more than four times
03-Jan-2025 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
Hello sir,
There's this lawyer who has rented my car. He is not paying the rent on time. He keeps issuing cheques to pay for the pending dues and whenever I deposit the cheque he stops payment for it. This has happened four times now.
In the event of the cheque bounce you need to issue and notice within 30 days from the date of bouncing of the cheque. secondly you need to file complaint within 45 days after receipt of the notice. Since the cheque has been bouncing for more than three times you can also approach to the police station and file complaint for cheating. if the police authorities do not register accomplant you can file a private criminal complaint against the person.
Regards
Well, you can lodge a FIR against him for committing Cheating and Criminal Breach of Trust + you can file a Cheque Bouncing Case on him in order to recover your rental income proceeds. Else, you can simplysend him a notice to vacate and release outstanding accumulated Rental Amount to you until now
