Hi sir/mam please let me know what kind of information you needed. If a cheque bounces due to insufficient funds, the drawer can be held criminally liable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The drawer can be punished with a fine of up to twice the cheque amount, imprisonment for up to two years, or both. The court can also sue the drawer for the amount on the cheque.

Cheque bounce cases are handled under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. You need to send a legal notice to the drawer within 30 days of dishonor, demanding payment within 15 days. If unpaid, you can file a case in court within the next 30 days. Ensure you have the bounced cheque, bank memo, and proof of notice. Penalties include up to 2 years imprisonment, a fine, or both. Let me know if you need help drafting the notice!

Hi!

Although, more detail is needed to be able to help you with the same. However, within 30 days of receiving return memo, a legal notice is sent to the accused wherein time of 15 days is given to repay the amount. If the amount is not paid, after lapse of 15 days, you can then file a case within 30 days.
