Blank cheque for deceased father

Hello team, My father had drawn a blank cheque against a party as security deposit. Now my father is passed in month of March 2020. Party is now claiming huge amount to me who is daughter of my father. Can you please advise here?

If cheque had been issued by your father then it was his liability. If you find that it was just family understanding and it was legally enforceable debts or liability then you can pay on moral basis but as per law it was signed by your father then he was only liable.

Dear Client, As per law you are not responsible for debt of your family members. Let's them file cheque bounce case, nothing to worry, they cannot win the case. Further if they are harassing you, then you can file police complaint against the said person. Regards, Expert Jurist LLP
