Unable to pay Credit Card Dues at this Hour
06-Aug-2023 (In Banking / Finance Law)
Received a legal Notice from SBI for not paying the credit card dues. My recruiter had laid me off but before that forced me to work from home for two months but after the supreme court announced that Employers are not bound to pay the salaries, they have not paid a single penny.
Where would I get money to pay the credit card dues, I have also spent all my savings from EPF. I belong to the hospitality industry and there is no job.
Can you advise something? Please call for a discussion.
Hi
Since there was a general moratorium period announced by the RBI, bank can not compel you to immediately pay the dues. However it is to be noted that these dues must’ve arisen from the lockdown period.
It is important for you to send a reply clearing your position to the bank. A communication channel can be established with the bank regarding a payment schedule within bounds of law.
Please feel free to contact me anytime to take this forward.
