IDFC FIRST BANK reported incorrect data to CIBIL

16-Sep-2023 (In Banking / Finance Law)
I took a two wheelar loan in 2012 from IDFC for 46,000 and I paid off 35000, I couldn't pay the remainder balance of approx 10k bec I lost my job, IDFC has posted a loan default for 81000, which screwed my credit score and I didn't default for 81k, it was almost double the amount of my loan I took, 81000 includes the loan amount of 46000 + the other penalties, I contacted them recently to get it sorted and they asked me to pay 16565 the overdue amount for once and for all and they will correct MY CIBIL and close my loan and issue me an NOC within 45 days of time, it's about to complete within the next 10 days but there are no adjustments in my credit report by them, I raised 3 disputes through CIBIL but they denied to accept my dispute, I have all the email correspondence from them, can I send them a legal notice

Yes, you can. Infact in a similar case we were able to get this corrected by way of a legal notice. If your rights in any way are hampered, we shall take all legal recourses available. Once you have got the payment made you shall not be prejudiced in any way.
