Giving an unsecured loan to someone how to recover

I Wanted to give unsecured loan to a person without any mortgage. Can a mere agreement on a Stamp Paper secure my recovery completely? If Yes, what is the amount of such Stamp Papers Required - 100 or 500 or more?? And What are the key points to be written in such agreement??
Now a days it's very risky to give money to anybody without any guarantee. Its on your personal relationship, you can take post dated cheques equivalent to your amount and execute agreement between you and him
