Questions Answered by Advocate Vaibhav Prakash Patankar
Q: Can rent agreement be used as address proof for aadhar card ?
My tanant applied for adhar card using my address. By providing tendency agreement for 11months any problem for me?, can tanant apply for aadhar card on rented address ?
Advocate Vaibhav Prakash Patankar answered
Tenant is bound to provide address where he is residing i.e. on the address where the tenancy rights are created under Tenancy Law. There shall be no any prejudice caused to you as a landlord if he has applied for ADHAR Card by providing address of room or tenement where he is staying. The Terminology 'using my address' is appears to be ambiguous because it may create confusion in the sense that using address of your room where you staying or using address of your room where the tenant is staying in the premises of which you are owner. Be that as it may, in my opinion no prejudice will caused if he has provided address of his room or tenement of which he is tenant. You can ask for photocopy of ADHAR CARD for your satisfaction.
