Q: Can police force me to live with my wife?
After my marriage I came to know that my wife was already married to someone else and not legally separated from him. I filed 420 case against my wife for cheating me. She is still living with us and not leaving our house and forcing me to withdraw my case. To threaten me she has file complaint of domestic violence against me in local police and local lady police is forcing me to live with her and not allowing me to move her out of my house. Do police have rights to force me to live with her? My wife is threatening me to charge under false allegations like dowry, domestic violence. She is also visiting some lady who works for women rights. We are totally helpless. Please advise.

Before i respond to this i would like to know if you have any valid proof of her earlier marriage, if yes then you have to file the proceedings for divorce to declare your marriage as null and void...Further you can file a private criminal complaint before the Magistrate court under the provisions of Indian penal Court against her and her parents (if it is an arranged marriage)
