Yes. You can make an application for restraintment in the court. The explanation should be attached with some evidence so that the court can decide over it. But the amount of rent should be equivalent to the same living standard as her matrimonial home.

My husband had unhoused our sons and me in June and sent a legal notice in August 2024. I hired a lawyer to help with the process. In December 2024 he pretended to reconcile as he didn't want to pay alimony. From March 2025 he resumed the physical emotional and financial abuse. I am currently in Canada. An adult girl (18+) in India and I were talking with mutual consent. Her father does not approve and is threatening to file a harassment complaint against me. The girl has clearly stated that I did not harass her and that she was talking to me willingly. Can her father legally proceed without her complaint? Could this affect me internationally or in future immigration matters?
