21-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
I have booked an Apartment and Registered on 14 Sep 17 and Interior work started from 18 Sep 17. We will be shifting or moving in by Mid of Oct'17 only. Would like to know whether do I need to pay Maintenance charges effective 1 Sep 17 or from the date of registration or to be paid only after moved in to the Flat. Need your valuable suggestion to take appropriate decision to take it forward immly.

See you have booked the flat and you want to shift. If there an agreement deed between the apartment owner and regarding the payment of maintenance you will go through the deed and if there is not anything mentioned regarding the condition of the payment and it is not necessary to pay in advance the maintenance amount.

That clause has to be inserted in sale deed which you have entered with the builder. Have a discussion with him and tell him that you will pay the maintenance only once you move to the flat. Regarding this you should discuss and add in the agreement or sale deed when you enter with the builder or owner of the flat.
