Flat security is not being returned by the landlord

Respected sir i am living in a 2bhk flat..with total 4 people.. me and 3 friends. We had an agreement till 31st march.. we have not renewed the agreement with owner yet. I have certain problems like they bring nonveg. so i cant stay here.. i told them this at the start of may month. The problem is neither he owner or friends are Returning the deposit back. what should i do?
You are not clear in your question whether you wanted the money from the owner or your friends? Have you vacated the premises? To whoever you want to return the money, send them written letter asking your money back. If they fail to respond send them lawyer notice. At last resort, if you have any proof of paying the advance you could file civil suit for recovery of money. Practically you could deduct the advance money for the rent to be paid and stay till you recover the full amount.
