Need information on gratuity from private software company

I have served continuous employment in my previous company. That company have a 5 working days in one week. Total tenure of my employment with that company till my last date was more tha 4 years and 240 days. Now when i asked for my gratuity, that company is saying i am not eligible for gratuity. Please let me know if i am eligible or not

According to payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 & Rules, an employee is eligible for getting gratuity after the completion of five years in an organization. On the other hands, if a worker have worked for 240 days a year is complete. It is not the matte of six working days in a week or 5 working days in a week.

you are eligible for the payment of gratuity as per the payment of gratuity act 1972 . you can send a notice to your company in form i as per act . if the failed to pay the said amount you can approach to controlling authority .
