Cheated by a person saying that he will give me a job

I joined a training centre last year.The person said that it was a company and asked me money for doing internship there and also assured me to give a job after internship.Later I came to know that it is not a company and the person cheated me.Now the person is saying that he cannot give me job neither money.Please help me,I dunno what to do.
Give a police complaint in the police station for cheating. Send a lawyer notice regarding this issue. File a case against him for recovery of money. Yes should have so vigilant before giving money to anyone.
