Is committing suicide covered under life insurance?

Hi Someone close to me passed away of suicide, I wanted to know if company group life insurance and individual life insurance cover this. I can provide the insurance details in person. Also if there are any pitfalls I should be aware of.
There are several insurance policies that provide cover even in instances of suicide. You would however need to read the specific terms of the policy carefully.
Your claim should be approved/rejected based strictly on the terms of the policy. If you feel that your claim has been wrongfully rejected, then you may approach the consumer courts.
However, you should be entitled to raise a claim based on the policy, i.e. you should be a nominee under the policy or a legal heir entitled to the proceeds thereof.
