I had an accident and guy is tricking & harassing me denying his word

I was in an accident on Sept 30th that caused major damage to my wife. I ensured to take care of the car which was left at the police station to release with NOC for insurance claim. The car was picked on rent from a friend. The car sustained damages and the owner appeared at the police station with me to get it released without any issue. However he lied that the insurance he had was valid, tricked me into giving a statement that I will cover his expenses and then when we releasd vehicle- nothn
If he lied before the Police Station, then, your friend and you can fall in trouble, if Police go on to deeply investigate in your case. Police can make a case against you of misinforming then with an intent to escape from the punishment prescribed in law.
