Going by the facts stated in your question, it seems that honestly explaining these facts to the police should be helpful.

Have you had sexual relations with your ex-girlfriend, by promising her that you will marry her? Did you promise her to marry, and did she, on the basis of that promise, consented for sexual intercourse with you? Did these things happen? Only you know the answer to these questions. If the answer is no, then relax. But if the answer is yes, it may land you in legal trouble. She might allege that you raped her or sexually molested her. In that case be careful. If this is what her allegations might be, you might be required to obtain anticipatory bail. But ensure first, if this is what she intends to allege, and whether police have registered / or likely to register FIR against you.

But if nothing of that sort has happened, then as you said, explain to her and to the police your situation, and also explain that now by marrying another girl, you are in a legal relationship with your wife (i.e. marriage), and that cannot be easily broken; and that the ex-gf should now accept that fact and find another suitable partner and marry him and be happy.

So also it is advisable for you to be committed to your wife and be happy and make her happy.

All the best.

Hi
Police cannot force you to marry anyone, it is not in their official capacity.
You may resolve this case amicably.
If other party is retributive then you also have to take harsh steps to prevent that.
