Father is law borrowed money and filed false dowry case what can I do

12-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
Sir, I gave 5 lakhs as interest to my wife's father I.e., 3 lakhs to my father in law and 2 lakhs to her father in law a few months ago. But from them they are not paying any interest for my money. So, I asked them to give back my money. Now my wife they went to police station and they are failing false complaint on me that is dowry harrasment, attempt to murder, and etc case. What can I do. I have taken promissory notes from them for 5 lakhs and now they are saying they gave that promissory notes to me when I harnessed them about money. So,can I file a case on them& fight with them legally.

Hi
you can file a case against your father in law based on promissory notes.
if you have made transfer of funds through bank, then that is valid proof.
all of the criminal cases against are separate cases and you should file a criminal complaint and a civil complaint against your father in law to recover the money and also win the other criminal cases foisted on you.

You can certainly file a case for cheating and criminal breach of trust against them, provided the facts stated by you are genuine and supported by documents and there are witnesses to that affect. You cannot stop them from filing a case, but once your grounds are established, their case can be closed.
