Is it possible to get joint registration of a flat

28-Dec-2023 (In Documentation Law)
Is it possible to jointly register a flat in the name of a father and his son? The said flat in bangalore is already registered under the fathers name about 2 years ago. Now, is it possible to re-register by adding sons name to it so they become joint owners?

Sure ypu can do provided certain documentations need to be done which may not be poaaible to do in a single shot. May be in a week time we can plan and act accordingly. If your kahata is changed then it would be even simple to transfer the same.

A better way is that your father gifts a specified share in the property by executing a Gift Deed. Since it will be a gift to a relative (son) you will not have to pay any gift tax which will otherwise be chargeable.

Yes you can ask your father to release 50% of the share in the property in your favour a release deed can be executed.
