She can not claim share in ur property. She can claim only maintenance from u by filing petition under section 125 cr.pc or under section 24 of HM Act in divorce petiton, and u will have to pay maintenance amount fixed by court. You can contact me if u r living in Distt. Patiala or Mohali.

Yes, wife can claim property from husband but the extent of share depend upon the dependant of the person from whom and for whom the property is claimed. Generally maintenance is claimed by the wife, but charge can be created upon the property by court if maintenance is not given.

After divorce the wife has a right to claim alimony and maintenance from her husband, and she can demand a part of property as her alimony. The amount of permanent alimony awarded to her must be befitting the status of the parties and the capacity of the spouse to pay maintenance, and depending on the facts of the case court can vary in their order. the Supreme Court in one of its recent judgement's has stated a benchmark of 25% of husband's salary as maintenance.
