30-Aug-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I married on 4/12/2015,wife left me on 10/8/2016.how to proceed for divorce. We are christians.
Under Indian Divorce Act, (which is applicable for divorce between two married christians), you need to live seperatly for at least 2 years before you can file petition for divorce by mutual Consent. SInce your wife has left/deserted you, you may need to wait for 2 years before you are able to file for divorce, However in case your wife has committed adultery or has changed her religion, you may immediately file for divorce, without even completion of one year from marriage. In the event you may have more questions, you may contact me'

Information given by you is insufficient to give any worthwhile advice. Has she left with intention to return later or she has left for over, how has been her conduct during the period of stay together and so on are the questions that need to be answered. However, assuming that she has left never to return, first you have ascertain whether to file a petition for restoration of conjugal rights. Also speak to her if she too wants divorce then you can opt for divorce by mutual consent.
