Wants to close a drunk drive case how to proceed FIR being filed

05-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I hit a car to avoid a pothole and was drunk. I offered compensation to the party but he called the police and lodged a FIR. I was taken to a hospital where the doctor mentioned "Conscious but drunk". No technical details were mentioned. I want a suggestion to close this case as I am about to get an opportunity in next 6 months to work abroad. I have attempted to settle the matter out of court but the person is very rigid and a doctor by profession. I am highly tensed and need suggestion.

Your query is such a type that i am thinking it not wise to discuss openly. Here I can give you an answer which would seem to be very formal to hear. Your case is based on some facts and circumstances and to punish you prosecution has to prove your guilt undoubtedly by adducing cogent and reliable witnesses. Don't be worried. Consult with a lawyer to defend the case.

try to settle it amongst yourself, unnecessarily dragging it will lead you into deeper trouble and you can get jailed, try to convince the doctor, if he wants any consideration talk to him but settle it anyhow or you can take lawyers help too

You have not mentioned any specific section under which the fir was lodged still going by your version it is advisable to compound the offence if it is compoundable or see if there is provision for fine then plead guilty and pay the fine amount thats how this case can get resolved
