You can cnegotiate with that person for settlement of the loan and payment terms and you can pay him accordingly. If you get insulted or threatened by that person, you can file a police complaint against such person.

your case is in pre-litigation stage, lok-adalats will be conducted 2nd saturday of every month across the country to provide an opportunity to the litigants to settle their disputes amicably without contesting before the courts & waste their precious time. So you go and appear personally or through an advocate and settle the dispute. Otherwise bank will file a recovery suit against you. Feel free to contact me for further assistance. Looking forward to serve you better.

Dear client, you may request the bank for paying EMIs on installment basis. Bank has no power to freeze your salary. There is a legal procedure. Bank must file civil suit against you. You will be given an opportunity to project you defense i.e., your illness and pay EMIs on installment basis.

you need to send the letter to the bank and ask them to close the loan account as the person who had taken the loan (your father ) died. please also affix the copy of the death certificate with the letter. the bank shall not come to your doors asking for the payment of the loan.
