Private guards and barriers hindrance in free public moment

07-May-2023 (In Civil Law)
Is it legally permitted for XX to erect gates, manual barriers and private guards on public roads? Does it not infringe on an individual's right to move freely? Are private guards permitted to question an individual or are they restricted to just be present at the entry/exit point to ensure free movement? Their questioning, in my view, is without legal or moral basis and infringes upon an individual's privacy, free movement and dignity. How to deal with it?

Hello,
For the query you posted, I would suggest the following:

Right to way is an easementary as well as a constitutional right.
You can always challenge any such act done by any person before the court of law, as this is a civil wrong, it won't be the prerogative of police to deal with the same.

I hope that answers your query.
