Can MNS officer appear for regular examination for CDS exam?

05-Jan-2023 (In Armed Forces Tribunal Law)

hi I m a serving MNS officer (nursing officer). I have 2 attempts left for Afcat and cds exams as per my age. Can i appear for the regular examination. If i clear the exam will i be able to get release from MNS services. I'm a permanent commission officer. As the grade pay, msp, basic pay of MNS officers is lesser than the regular forces having same rank and experience of service.

Hello Officer, I appreciate you query and amazed as in my service career I have never come across of this situation. I do not know if there is such policy in this regard. But in my opinion you are entitled to upgrade your career profile and better future avenues. Although monetarily you may not benefit much at this stage but quality and promotional aspects are better. In my opinion you will be released from MNS service. Pl do take proper permission for AFCAT exams. All the best.
