Succession Certificate of deceased sister

14-Sep-2023 (In Succession Certificate Law)
My sister has recently passed away without leaving behind a will. She is divorced and has no children. All living relatives are agreeable that I should be the legal heir of the deceased. How should I apply for legal heir certificate or succession certificate?

For Succession Certificate you can file a petition in the competent court of law.
You have to make all other heirs, party to the case and if they have no dispute then they can file a no objection certificate.
Court will then order for publication regarding the same for public at large.
And then grant a Succession Certificate.

Your sister has died intestate I.e., without leaving a Will and thus, you need to apply for the grant of the Succession Certificate by filing a petition under section 372 of the Succession Act before the concerned civil court
