Can R.T.I. be filed against a cooperative housing group

Dear Friend,
RTI is applicable to those Authorities which are funded by governments. A Cooperative Group Housing Society in Delhi may not fall in this category.

Nevertheless, as there is a clamour for reigning in more bodies under RTI for example - 'BCCI' on the ground that it organises matches which are played in public places and viewed and paid for by public, who knows later one day the CIC may take a view that since the cooperative housing societies are given land by public bodies, they should also be subject to RTI. But as of now these societies are not within the ambit of RTI.
