Get back money from a person legally

Few months back, I lent money to a friend of Rs 5000 without promissory note. After a month, I have asked him to return money to which he replied saying that he has not got the salary and after receiving the salary he would pay me back. A few days after that when I messaged him again, he said that he does not have money in his account to which he has shown Paytm snapshots which I don't believe since he owns an Iphone.
How should I go about this?
Evidences I have :-
1. Electronic transmission of money sent to him via GPay.
2. Whatsapp conversation regarding asking money and the responses that he would pay later.
file a suit in lok Adalat that for small matter where through mediation things can be sorted out just in one day. as you have minor amount of 5000 so lok Adalat suits you. in this they call both parties and sort out the matter here you can approach with or without advocates.
