Can a case of recovery be filed

Before 11 years back we had given someone 10 lacs Rupees on interest, from that time the person was giving us interest on monthly basis but from november 2016 he is not paying the interest and not even the amount. And now we don't have any proof against except the bank statement of that time and cheque given by him as a proof. We also have voice recording of him in which he claimed that he had took amount from us and will give it back to us after some time. Can we file case against him for non-payment??
Yes u can file a case for recovery under civil law or alternatively file police complaint for cheating these two remedy in your case pls act accordingly. These two remedy for your consideration pls take anyone
