Broker took the money to return it to the tenant and now absconded

I had made a payment of Rupees 6 lakh to a broker with the intent to pay back my tenant for the heavy deposit taken from the tenant. But the broker did not payback the tenant and took the money and is now untraceable. The broker is now in Korea and not picking up my calls. It has been more than a year now. The broker has a house of his own which is given on rent, hence we find it difficult to reach him. Please help.

Considering the amount, I hope you have some documented proof to show that you have given the broker the said amount. If so, then you can initiate a civil case against the broker. We can send him a notice that if he doesn't pay then we will file a 420 case against him and his passport will get impounded post that and it will be very difficult for him to come back to India and if he comes back he will get arrested and won't be able to go out unless and until the case is solved
