Car accident - Owner (My father) - car policy nominee - Uncle

Dear sir, accident car is owned by my father in 2012 but used by uncle's close friend from time of purchase. My father is passed away in 2013.So now car accident is happen by uncle's friend.also on car insurance the nominee is my uncle. So who is responsible for this issue. (I.e me / my uncle ) . Please advice. (Religion - Hindu )
