Delay in proper treatment resulting life threat

Dear Sir/Madam,
My mother is in one of the private hospital in Delhi. She was admitted due to breathing and heart issues which found out to be a bacterial infection. Proper medicines were delayed with many other issues due to which her condition becomes utterly bad. Doctors say we are checking. What to do in this case? Should I write to health ministry but help with procedure -having details of negligence? Please help to save my mother.

Secondly as unfortunate as the circumstances are, we would suggest you to not write to the health ministry.
A case of medical Negligence is maintainable in the present circumstances. We need to show the same in accordance with the Bolam's Principle with the help of the Medical Records and Literature that shall be taken on record.

You can approach consumer courts for relief if you had a gap or negligence in your treatment. However, I would not recommend shaking too much up while the treatment is ongoing. You can do everything after your mother is better, and you can also try shifting her to a different hospital.

Your immediate priority should be your mother’s treatment and ensuring that all medical records are preserved. Ask the hospital in writing for copies of the admission papers, investigation reports, prescriptions, ICU notes, treatment charts, consent forms and billing records. Also maintain a written timeline of events, including delay in medicines/treatment and the names of doctors involved.
If you believe there is negligence or delay in providing proper care, you may:
Escalate the matter immediately to the Medical Superintendent/Hospital Administration in writing and seek urgent intervention.
File a complaint before the Delhi Medical Council/National Medical Commission if there is professional misconduct or negligence.
Approach the Health Department/Health Ministry with complete details and supporting documents.
In appropriate cases, legal proceedings for medical negligence can also be initiated before the Consumer Commission or Civil/Criminal Courts depending upon the facts and evidence.
