Not giving deposit back and misbehaving while negotiating
14-Feb-2025 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I gave the deposit to the landlord and then changed my mind to go and live there . After i talked it through with the landlord ,he started misbehaving and speaking foul word . He is not giving the money back . I even have recordings . This all happened in one month only .
You can file a complaint against the landlord for not refunding the amount to you...Also you can issue a legal notice to the concerned person through an Advocate for refund of the money along with the interest there on till the date of actual recovery.

If you have signed a rental agreement, check if there is a cancellation clause. If the agreement mentions that the deposit is non- refundable , it may be difficult to get a full refund.

Well, if the concerned Landlord is not giving your refundable Security Deposit back to you, then, you can get a FIR lodged against him. You can also file a case before the concerned Small Causes Court under the Maharashtra Rent Control Act to seek your deposit back or you can file a case before the concerned City Civil Court.
