You can make a formal representation to the concerned electricity provider for clarification of the issue and also may send a statutory notice for reinstallation to avoid any future escalation of the issue to your landlord to settle the dispute amicably and expeditiously.

Through an advocate, send notice stating: He illegally interfered with essential service Demand reversal of transfer Warn of court action Often this alone makes landlords step back. File Case for Injunction (Strong Remedy) You can file a civil suit seeking: ✔ Permanent injunction restraining landlord from interfering with electricity ✔ Mandatory injunction to restore meter status ✔ Protection against disconnection Courts treat electricity as part of right to live with dignity, and tenants usually get protection fast.

If you are lawful tenants and paying bills, landlord cannot misuse meter details to harass you. File written complaint with electricity department objecting to name change and seek restoration. If harassment continues, send legal notice and approach civil court for injunction.

Hi, please note that it appears from your narration of facts that there is no legal harm or legal issue affecting your legal rights as a tenant as the landlord is well within his legal rights to get the meter of his own property in his name or his son's name. Best to get a detailed legal consultation with complete facts, inputs and documents to understand your legal issue so that effective and proper legal advise can be given to you. Best wishes.
