Will marriage get cancelled if not staying together for 6 months

I am a malyali and did register marriage with a bengali last year and as i was studying went back to continue my studies.I thogjt yo convince my parents as they were against our relation within a year but now its going to be a year and now my husband says it would get cancelled if as i have not stayed with him for six months atleast and ee got married under special marriage act.we both are hindus and my family still unaware of my register marriage.please give me a legal advice as i dont want my marriage to get cancelled and at present i cant leave home as my mother is not well.He says its a court order

You are legally married and only a court can give divorce to you. There is no rule which says that the couple have to stay with each other for atleast for 6 months. In case the husband wants to get a divorce then he has to file a case for divorce against you. Then you will get a notice from the court and you will have to explain whether you are also willing to give divorce or not. Does your husband want to live with you or does he want to get divorce?
